The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), are a group of premier science education and research institutes in India.  The institutes were created by the Government of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), under The National Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2010, which was passed by the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012.

Seven IISERs have been established across the country namely, namely IISER Kolkata in West Bengal, IISER Pune in Maharashtra, IISER Mohali in Punjab, IISER Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, IISER Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, IISER Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and IISER Berhampur in Odisha.

National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER)

National Institute of Science Education and Research, under the aegis of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), has been established with the aim of embedding scientific rigor within larger pedagogic practices in our country. The Institute is affiliated with Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai, a deemed research university that oversees academic programs at Institutions that are part of the DAE structure.

The Indian Space Research Organisation is the space agency of the Government of India headquartered in the city of Bengaluru. Its vision is to "harness space technology for national development while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration.

VI. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research  (TIFR) and Sub-centers

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is a National Centre of the Government of India, under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy, as well as a deemed University awarding degrees for master's and doctoral programs. The Institute was founded in 1945 with support from the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust under the vision of Dr Homi Bhabha. At TIFR, we carry out basic research in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science and science education. The main campus is located in Mumbai, with centres at Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
